Here at the Mermaid we aim to present the best of national and international artistic activity in dance, theatre, visual art music (of all types), literature and opera, and to provide a forum for local artistic events.
The Mermaid is a receiving house whose performing arts programme is programmed from 3-6 months in advance. The gallery is programmed up to 12 months in advance.

Some films shown
at mermaid arts centre have not yet received certification. These are
referred to as 'Club films'. This means that all guests for Club films must
be over 18 years of age and a Club film membership is also required. This
costs €1.50 per evening or €15 for annual membership and covers you plus 3
guests per screening. This is in addition to the mermaid regular ticket
price for films (€7.50 / €6 Conc).
