At the edge of the skin

The first solo exhibition of Mermaid's 2011 programme features the video work of Cecily Brennan.

From a basis in painting and drawing Brennan's practice has expanded to encompass video, sculpture and installation work that is preoccupied with the close examination and exploration of pressure, psychological trauma and the vulnerability of the human body.
