Arcadia Festival- A Big Thank You from Mermaid

Thanks a million everyone!
Mermaid's Arcadia Festival took place from the 8 to the 17th of June in locations all around the town of Bray. It was a fantastic success, not least because of the massive effort our partners put into creating an array of wonderful Arcadia events, so a big thank you goes to those 39 businesses and organisations who made it all possible.
We would also like to thank everyone who came out to help us celebrate this special town, there was a lovely atmosphere throughout the ten days which we think made the festival especially magical. With a new festival it's all about getting the word out there so another big thanks to all those journalists, broadcasters, bloggers and website editors who covered Arcadia, we couldn't have done it without your support.
If you missed Arcadia remember you can still visit our from Bray with Love exhibition in Mermaid Gallery featuring travel posters, postcards and archival footage of Bray. The exhibition runs until Thursday 18th of September and is, as always, free!
Finally…
In the spirit of community many events at Arcadia were free or put on at a below cost. So if you particularly enjoyed the festival and perhaps visited a business or venue you hadn't been to before, we invite you to show your appreciation by returning to them over the next few weeks.
Maybe it's getting an ice-cream in the Gelateria, family brunch in the Martello, a drink at Holland's, The Harbour Bar, Duff's or the Porterhouse; maybe it's a night out at Bray Bowl, a family day out at Killruddery or Festina Lente, a civilised afternoon of tea and cake at the Esplanade or The Strand Hotel, fun on the water with East Coast Kayaks or even a show here at Mermaid!
Local businesses are part of what makes this town so special and with your support they can help Bray to flourish and thrive. So please share your experience, recommend a Bray business to a friend and help keep the Arcadia spirit alive all year round.
