A Hero

Rahim is on two day release from jail, serving a sentence for a debt he couldn’t repay. During his release he tries to convince his creditor to withdraw his complaint in exchange for paying back part of the debt. He plans to do this with some gold coins which his girlfriend found in the street. When that doesn’t work out Rahim comes up with another idea to secure his freedom. Initially the plan works perfectly but slowly things begin to turn and Rahim is confronted with a crisis he would never have imagined.

A Hero, the latest from Iranian filmmaker Asghar Farhadi is a knotted tale of morality, humanity and the ease with which social media can flip public perception.
