Launch Event at Killruddery House

Mapping The Ancestors

Mapping The Ancestors is a new limited edition artwork designed by the award winning Or Studio in collaboration with artist Joseph Young, to accompany Young’s site-specific sound work, The Ancestors.

Made as part of Young’s PhD research, The Ancestors draws on the rich private archive held at Killruddery House and Gardens, where historical estate papers sit alongside personal diaries and letters.

At this special launch reception, Young and Killruddery's archivist Xenia Meath will discuss the significance of this fascinating repository, offer a preview Young’s new album, Sonic Hauntings in a Big House, and lead a short tours of The Ancestors ‘sound walk’ and the archive itself.

The event is held at Killruddery House and Gardens’ beautiful Orangery, with a drinks reception courtesy of Killruddery Arts.
