Charcoal Making & Drawing with David Begley
Join artist David Begley for an exciting day of charcoal drawing in Roundwood Parish Hall. Participants will learn how to harvest and prepare wood for baking charcoal at home, and will explore tools and techniques for drawing in charcoal. David’s charcoals include ivy, cork, and driftwood. Through experimenting with these, participants will enjoy the wide range of marks, tones, textures and colours home-baked charcoal can produce.
David will discuss how to bake charcoal, will demonstrate charcoal ink making, and how to use additional drawing tools including chamois, erasers, sandpaper, and brushes.
David Begley is an enthusiastic, energetic, and generous teacher who loves to share his knowledge and experience.
This workshop is suitable for all levels.
