Mermaid Arts Centre will play host to the premiere of two live performance films commissioned and curated by Wicklow Arts Office alongside a live musical performance featuring some of Ireland’s leading talents within the contemporary classical music space.
Currents composed by virtuoso violinist Cora Venus Lunny has been captured in a unique performance film inside the old pumphouse at Poulaphouca Reservoir. The striking surroundings at Poulaphouca offer an impressive accompaniment to this improvisational music piece.
A performance film shot with Yurodny in the lavish surroundings of Russborough House, not far from Poulaphouca reservoir will also be presented on the evening. Yurodny are an exciting ensemble constantly innovating and re-imaging musical traditions from around the world.
The night will see live performances from those involved in both films which promises to be an unforgettable experience for those in attendance.
