Herself (Cert: 15A)

Having fled her abusive ex-partner Gary, single mother Sandra finds herself trapped in temporary accommodation with her two daughters. Left with few viable options, she draws inspiration from one of her daughter’s bedtime stories andhits upon the idea of self-building an affordable home. With very little financial support Sandra must use all her ingenuityand call on friends, old and new to support her and lend a helping hand. At the same time, she mustcontinue to keep Gary at bay and protect her children from the bureaucracy that would see their custody handed over to their father. Claire Dunne gives a quietly powerful performance in this warm drama about finding thestrength to ask for help.
