Colum Sands and Anne Harper Present

Knowing The Ground On Which We Stand

Armed with guitar, harp, clarinets and whistle, singer-songwriter Colum Sands and classical musician Anne Harper share stories, songs and tunes inspired by the language that connects us to the places where we live.

Although both well travelled musicians - Colum has performed as a solo performer and as a member of The Sands Family in over thirty countries and Anne has performed at home and abroad with the RTE Orchestra, the Ulster Orchestra, the Scottish Chamber Orchestra and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra - it was through their campaigning work for the respect and protection of environmental and heritage sites in Ireland that they first met.

With a weave of tunes, humour, original songs and stories of all ages, they draw upon their own experiences and performances in ancient woodlands, mountain slopes, High Courts and venues of every shape and size to celebrate and protect the life support system of nature upon which we all depend.
