Lake Burst

Lake Burst is a new site-specific performance artwork in the form of a short film.

This experimental work reinterprets “A River Claiming It’s Due” (an Irish folklore tale of a lake calling for the inevitable death of its next victim) as a story of inner conflict and spiritual rebirth.

Original soundscape, costume and movement are woven together in a transformational journey of spirit and flesh, seduction and illusion, summoning and willpower, resistance and surrender.

As part of this launch event interdisciplinary artist Maia Nunes will engage transcendental poet Oscar Mascarenas in a public conversation exploring site specific work and the relationships between sound, landscape and the body.
