Maestro

Director: Bradley Cooper
Cast: Bradley Cooper, Carey Mulligan, Maya Hawke

Bradley Cooper directs, co-writes and stars in this lovingly-crafted film about the life of iconic American composer and conductor Leonard Bernstein. Cooper frames the film in the context of Bernstein’s relationship with his wife Felicia Montealegre: a loving marriage complicated by Leonard’s secretive gay relationships. Set over several decades, the film charts the many ups and downs of their relationship, as Leonard’s prestige and promiscuity put pressure on their relationship and family life.

Set across several decades and shot in a stunning mix of colour and black-and-white, Cooper’s follow-up to A Star is Born reaffirms his directorial skill and passion. Boasting two Oscar-nominated lead performances, Maestro is a vibrant portrait of creativity, fame and - above all - love.
