Mermaid Arts Centre is excited to announce a partnership with MyCinema - a new digital platform designed to support local independent cinemas and arts centres - which will enhance our existing weekly cinema programming.

Our film fans can now experience a range of new digital content features!

Mermaid Arts Centre is one of the first venues to team up with MyCinema for the platform’s initial launch.

MyCinema includes a new video-on-demand platform, curated to bring the best of European, world and independent cinema to viewers. A selection of high-quality event cinema content will also be available for viewers to rent. A share of the revenue from each rental will go directly to us here at Mermaid Arts Centre so by viewing the online content you are directly supporting us.

The platform will also serve as a central hub to highlight some of the new & exciting in-venue events happening soon in Mermaid Arts Centre.

MyCinema is operated by access>CINEMA, the resource organisation for cultural cinema exhibition in Ireland. The platform has been designed as part of the CINNOVATE project, which aims to re-engage audiences for the big screen experience and European film. The project successfully secured European Union investment in 2021. It brings together four of Europe’s leading arthouse cinema networks – access>CINEMA, Folkets Hus och Parker, Folkets Bio (both from Sweden), and Art kino mreža Slovenije (Slovenia).

The project is being coordinated by Cologne-based VOD and digital distribution experts Rushlake Media and independent consultant Jan Runge. Additional content and network partners are the Event Cinema Association (United Kingdom), Spielfabrique (Germany) and IMZ International Music + Media Centre (Austria).
