Candlelit Tales - Stories From the Sea
Candlelit Tales return to the Harbour Bar for an afternoon of storytelling to raise funds for RNLI Wicklow, who are currently purchasing equipment for eight new recruits.
The sea is enchanting and beautiful, and so often cruel and unforgiving. The Irish fishermen used to not know how to swim, as the fear of drowning and superstitions of creatures beneath the waves were ripe. Come and hear us tell you more about these underwater creatures, the mythic beings, and the epic voyages over the waves.
Live music is the heartbeat of any Candlelit Tales performance, and a live original music score composed by a team of talented musicians drives the rhythm of the storytelling, weaving through the tale and sweeping the listener away. We have developed and refined our uniquely expressive, naturalistic and modern style for these stories as we explore the depth, wisdom, and the richness within them, while allowing the organic humour, passion and playfulness to enchant audiences of all ages.
Our guiding light has always been to make these stories accessible and available to as many people as we can. Because we love them, and we want everyone else in the world to have a chance to fall in love with them too.
Age Suitability: 8+ to adults
This event is kindly supported by The Harbour Bar.
Admission is free but donations are welcome on the door in aid of the RNLI Wicklow.
