Classical pianist Sam and successful novelist Tusker are still very much in love, even after twenty years together. But their lives have had to change in the two years since Tusker received a diagnosis of early onset dementia. Before Tusker’s health deteriorates further, they undertake one last road trip across England together, to visit family, friends and places that are dear to them.
Featuring beautifully restrained and gentle performances from Colin Firth and Stanley Tucci as the long-standing couple now facing an uncertain future, this second film from director Harry Macqueenisan accomplished and deeply affecting exploration of how powerful love can be, even in the face of inevitable loss.
