Susan O'Neill

‘Rewire’ described by Hot Press magazine as a “Wondrous showcase of O’Neill’s bubbling creative prowess” moves between an industrial pulse and an indie pop roar. Weaving in a message of recovery after loss, an ode to grief and beginning again. Susan writes about a journey that is unavoidable for all, leaving the listener with the lingering affirmation ‘Maybe I’ll try and hold embrace it, Maybe I’ll try and stand and face it’. These affirmations are sung out in the accompanying music video shot by Susan while visiting Germany on tour this summer. The video, edited by visual collaborator Christopher Luke.

Susan has spent the last few years honing her craft as a solo performer. A songwriter of hidden depths, with a timeless voice that is equal parts balm and blowtorch, she is audacity personified, a free spirit, a real performer.

Since the release of the critically acclaimed collaboration album with Mick Flannery ‘In The Game’, Susan has toured extensively across Europe and North America, performing both with Mick and solo on headline tours, festival stages, and as an invited guest to an array of artists including Phoebe Bridgers, Valerie June and The Teskey Brothers.

Susan's newest album Now In A Minute is now available to purchase or stream. Recorded over the past 18 months between Clare and Cork, with engineer and producer Christian Best.

Susan has spent the summer touring at home and abroad, showcasing songs from the forthcoming album. Playing various festivals, Opening on bigger summer stages in Europe for Calexico, Jamie Cullum, performing a tribute to Sinead O’Connor and Shane McGowen with the RTE Concert Orchestra at the All Together Now festival, and most recently taking to the main stage at The Haldern Pop festival in Germany accompanied by The Stargaze Orchestra and the 28 person Cantus Domus Choir, who accompanied her on many of her new album songs including ‘Rewire’. The performance which had a huge audience reaction was described by Louder than War as ‘A lush and heartfelt show, a real emotional hinterland’
