The Seaside Arts Club in celebration of Bray.
Join local artists as for the inaugural Seaside Arts Club at Mermaid Arts Centre. There will be artists, musicians and comedians on hand to spread awareness of the brilliance of our community.
Artists Dee Dooley and Luke Christoffersen will have some recent works on show, local singer song writer Hannah Grace will take to the stage ahead of comedy line up. The host for the evening is Bray comedian –Keego. Headline comedian Joe Rooney!

Keego is a comedian, actor, writer, host and all-round average guy from Bray. Keego is a bald man. Wandering through life thinking about things like 'what is the secret Victoria sells in her bra shops', 'what is the Irish kama sutra', 'when is a couple a quadruple' and what happens when role play in the bedroom... goes very wrong.
Keego has been straddling every stage possible - including Culture night in Dublin, The Ballycotton Comedy Festival, The Westport Comedy Festival, The Burbank Comedy Festival and The Edinburgh Fringe Festival. He has also performed in Ireland's top venues and clubs such as The Craic Den, The Workmans Club, The Roisin Dubh, Whelans, The Button Factory, Trinity College, Coughlans, and Bow Lane Social Club.
Keego has just finished a run of headline shows in Belfast, Athlone, Wicklow, Galway and Dublin as well as a short tour of New Yorks comedy clubs.
In 2023 Keego supported Ardal O'Hanlon, Deirdre O'Kane, Eric Lalor and Joe Rooney as well as warming up the audience for the mighty Micky Bartlett and Paul Smith recently.
Kevin Gildea: Comedian
Kevin has gigged all over Britain and Ireland and the rest of the known world – from Singapore to Sligo. He's headlined gigs in Johannesburg and Cape Town and regularly plays all the major comedy festivals in Ireland – The Electric Picnic, ATN, The Paddy Power Comedy Festival in the Iveagh Gardens, The Galway Comedy Festival, Kilkenomics and etc.
Kevin has also performed at The Edinburgh festival with his comedy band 'THE KEVIN GILDEAS' which received rave reviews:

He supported Reg D Hunter on his Irish tour and a few slots on his English tour. He is a founder member of Dublin's famous Comedy Cellar with Mr. Trellis. He was a writer and performer on RTE TV's satirical comedy show Irish Pictorial Weekly. Kevin was in RTE TV's Bridget and Eamonn and was Fr Cave in Fr. Ted (the one on the aeroplane). He has written for Alexei Sayle's TV show. Kevin regularly performs Improv with The Dublin Comedy Improv - the longest running, and best, Irish Improv group. He has performed his show Silly Stories and Stand-Up Comedy for Kidz to kids all over Ireland.
Janet Dunne: Comedian
Janet has been amusing people for decades with her quick wit and her curly head. At the tender age of 55 Janet finally grew the obligatory balls of steel necessary for a life of stand-up comedy.
It wasn’t long before she made it to the final of numerous competitions and played some of the best comedy clubs in Ireland. In 2023 Janet made her Edinburgh Fringe debut playing some of full houses. She is delighted to return to Bray to perform in Mermaid Arts Centre .
Her charismatic personality captivates her audience as she takes them on a VIP tour of her private life with her anecdotal tales. A peek inside Janet’s brain is guaranteed to make you laugh.
Luke Christoffersen: Artist
Luke shares a studio with several other Bray artists where he work mostly in painting. Luke studied art in Bray Institute of Further Education where he attained awards in Arts and Ceramics followed by a Higher National Diploma in fine art where he specialised in oil painting.
Luke has been inspired by artists such as Van Gogh, Rembrandt and Cézanne. He is inspired by film and theatre and have helped with set painting for local theatre groups.
Luke has exhibited work in Bray, Dublin, Achill and Italy.
Luke has been working on a series of paintings based on vulnerable wildlife in Ireland as he take an interest in the environment and climate change.
Dee Dooley: Photographer
Dee Kelly Dooley discovered her passion for capturing the beauty of Bray and its stunning surroundings during the pandemic lockdown. Embracing photography as a creative outlet, she dedicated herself to the craft and could often be found at sunrise on Bray’s beach, skilfully immortalising the wonders of the town through her lens.
One of Dee's most notable contributions to the community came in the form of "Braysbarbie," a beloved Barbie doll that she ingeniously brought to life through her photography. By artfully showcasing Braysbarbie in various locations around town, Dee not only promoted local businesses and charities but also succeeded in bringing joy and amusement to the townspeople with her imaginative and playful photographic endeavours. Dee's outstanding efforts did not go unnoticed, and in 2021, she was honoured with the prestigious Endeavour Award by the Bray Chamber of Commerce for her significant contribution to the town's wellbeing through her exceptional photographic work.
With a deep-rooted connection to Bray and an unwavering commitment to spreading positivity through her art, Dee Kelly Dooley continues to inspire and uplift others with her captivating photography, leaving an indelible mark on the community and beyond.
Hannah Grace: Musician
Hannah is a singer songwriter from Bray who has been busking all over Ireland and recently in New York. She is part of the comedy duo ‘ Paddy and Johnny’ who have been playing all over Ireland to standing ovations everywhere. Hannah will open the event.
