What the Tide Brings: a seaweed foraging and cyanotype workshop with Samuel Arnold Keane and Kasia Kaminska

We will follow tide out at the great reveal of deep purples, greens and browns of seaweeds, gathering fronds and stories along our way... returning to the Mermaid our baskets full, we will bring the seaweeds and their stories to create pieces of art using cyanotype print...a method of working with negative shapes and sunlight, giving a deep blue background, reminiscent of the sea with the seaweed shapes and forms delicately placed to create shapes and texture... Followed by some seaweed nibbles and tea.

The workshop will begin down at the meeting point where participants will be greeted by Sam to begin the forage along Bray Seafront.Later, participants will walk back to Mermaid Arts Centre where the print workshop with Kasia will be held.

This workshop is for adults and accompanied children. All materials will be provided.
