Mermaid Arts Centre with the support of Wicklow Arts Office, is delighted to bring storytelling to the beautiful surrounds of Lynham's of Laragh.
We will be joined by three traditional storytelling greats: Kate Corkery, Con Ó Drisceoil and Paddy O'Brien for what will guaranteed to be a highly entertaining evening in the cosy surrounds of the Lynham's. Age suitability: 18+

Kate Corkery
Originally from Passage West in County Cork, Kate is based in London and is one of Ireland’s finest traditional tellers.A master storyteller who performs both traditional and original material: myths, legends and folk tales from Ireland and around the world, riddles, rhymes, games and songs for children.She sings and plays bodhrán.Kate is the founder of the Hammersmith Yarnspinners. She has performed at festivals throughout Ireland, the UK and further afield.
Con Ó Drisceoil
Con "Fada" Ó Drisceoil is a native of West Cork. Con has been living in Cork city for many decades and spent his working life teaching in Douglas Community School. A passion for the Irish language, nurtured at home and developed over many years holidaying in Corca Dhuibhne, led him to a deep interest in traditional music, story and song.In the mid-seventies he began to play Irish music on the accordion, and around the same time he started to write comic songs in the Irish tradition.Since 1989 he is a member of The Four Star Trio, a group which has played all over Ireland and in various parts of Europe. Their album The Square Triangle was issued in 1997. Con also features on a CD called It’s No Secret (2001), with fiddler Séamus Creagh and flute-player Hammy Hamilton
Paddy O’Brien/Pádraig Ó Briain
Paddy O'Brien was born in Co. Kerry and is a natural storyteller who has appeared at Storytelling festivals all over Ireland. He has been a featured teller on many occasions at the world-famous Cape Clear International Storytelling Festival.Paddy can entertain any audience from age 3 to 103 with his fantastic stories, songs and verse - told in his own inimitable way.Rugadh Pádraig Ó Briain i gCo.
