YARN Story Circle - Guest Teller Stephen O'Hara

Join us for a relaxed storytelling circle with guest teller Stephen O'Hara.

Our special guest will launch our monthly storytelling story circle and then open to the floor. No pressure to tell - listeners welcome!

Stephen O'Hara

Stephen O'Hara is a retired English teacher who always had a story on the tip of his tongue. On retirement, he opened Cafe Revive in Cushendall, in the Glens of Antrim, calling it 'Ireland's only Storytelling Cafe'. The café put him in the sights of Liz Weir, who trained him in one of the first accredited storytelling courses anywhere on the island. He now co-teaches that very course with his mentor Liz. Stephen's Storytelling tastes focus around his most strongly-held belief: all mythology and folklore have their roots in the lived experience of real people. He strives to keep those real lives in the minds and memories of his audiences.

Ages: Adults (14+)

The Yarn Story Circle will take place on the first Wednesday of the month from February to June and then in September and October before culminating in a Story Swap at the YARN Storytelling Festival.

Venue: Upstairs in the Town Hall (enter by the door opposite the Credit Union)
