Fade Out

The Victorian Bray Head Hotel is frequently used as a set for film production, yet it still receives guests. These hotel lounge spaces are not as they seem. They have, on one level, an inauthenticity as many aspects have been altered by their use as film sets. Fade Out explored the interplay between fiction and reality. The photographic images take the viewer from the public spaces of a local hotel frequently used in film production, to a film studio backlot and subsequently into the private bedroom spaces of the hotel. Fiona Hackett gave a free Artist’s Walking Tour of the Bray Head Hotel on Thurs 5 Feb @ 4:30pm before the opening of her exhibition at 6pm in Mermaid Arts Centre.
