Super Paua
Mermaid Arts Centre is delighted to welcome Super Paua as Storyteller in Residence for 2022.
Super Paua is an artist-led collective that makes work primarily for young people in a variety of languages, places, and forms. Humour, social relevance, and respect define their work. Super Paua is a core partnership between Artistic Director Mark Ball and Creative Producer Heather Rose.
One of their main projects of the last few years has been Super Paua Stories/Scéalta Super Paua/Opowiadania Super Paua, a free audio storytelling podcast in English, Irish and Polish for young people aged 5-12 and their grown-ups! They created tales of WhatsApp astronomy lessons; the best bear hugging techniques; miniature gardening rivalries; caorigh atá ag iarraidh bríoscaí éagsúla; muca ag caint leat i do shamhlíocht; impersonating a journalist to get to the Euros- co Ty tutaj robisz? ; and skipping school with your dog!
They are delighted to be this year’s Storyteller in Residence with YARN Storytelling Festival at Mermaid Arts Centre. They can’t wait to create stories with and for the amazing young people of Wicklow!
