YARN Commission 2026

Jack Lynch & Colum Sands Commission

We are delighted to present a special YARN Commission for 2026. We have commissioned Jack Lynch and Colum Sands to record and develop a new performance based on Táin Bó Fraoch, an 8th-century tributary tale to the Táin Bó Cúailnge. This is a less known dramatic romance, translated from Middle Irish by Jack, to be set to a musical soundtrack by Colum. The commission supports the recording of the story and the development of a live performance script. This investment ensures important work from Ireland’s rich storytelling heritage is preserved.
