A Knowable Whole
A Knowable Whole was an exhibition of new video work and photographs by artist Jennifer Brady and was accompanied by a screening of the seminal film Chronicle of a Summer (Jean Rouch and Edgar Morin, 1961) on Saturday 27 August at 8pm.
Brady develops her ongoing investigation into the figure of truth within the documentary form with her new video work 119 Howth Road. The work focuses on the failed development of a luxury apartment complex in Dublin in recent years. This site and its history is used as a departure point from which to explore notions of illusion in relation to financial speculation, filmic construction and documentary filmmaking practices.
Jennifer Brady lives and works in Dublin. Having completed an M.A in Visual Arts Practices at IADT (First Class Honors) in 2010, she is currently working on a commission for Mayo County Council's Landmark public art programme and was recently awarded an Arts Council Visual Arts Bursary Award. Her work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions both nationally and internationally, most recently in 126 artist-run gallery, Galway, The LAB, Dublin and Draiocht, Blanchardstown.
