Felicity Clear

In Diamond Valley

Felicity Clear’s large-scale drawings and paintings are drawn from photographic references and architectural plans. Deviating from the starting point of real urban landscapes, she exaggerates the subtle and the strange to
explore how space is negotiated and to tease out more general questions of aspiration on failure. The title In Diamond Valley was a reference to the gated apartment complexes, springing up all over her native County Wicklow, where there is an unease to their atmosphere of rural retreat. Originally from Greystones, Co Wicklow. Clear has exhibited widely with solo exhibitions at the Rubicon Gallery, The Lab and Galway Arts Centre. Recent group exhibitions include ‘There, Not There’ Crawford Art Gallery, Cork, 10,000 to 50’, IMMA, and ‘City Of Strangers’, Tulca, Galway.
