From Aprons of Power to miraculous Assumptions, Home Front looks at territorial wars in domestic spaces.
Rachel Fallon’s sculptural subversions of military mottos and associated objects poke a finger at ideals of motherhood, linking past histories and politics to the roles women play in society today.
In her work Rachel explores themes of protection and defense in domestic realms and addresses the domain of motherhood. Her practice encompasses sculpture, drawing, photography and performance and she is known for her collaborations with Irish and international artists and collectives.
A founding member of Outpost Studios and of pff publications; a feminist zine collective, a member of U.K. collectives Desperate Artwives and Project Procreate. Rachel exhibits nationally and internationally and her work is held in public and private collections. She lives and works in Bray, is a member of the Royal Society of Sculptors and 2018 has exhibited in EVA International Biennale, Limerick; Talbot–Rice Gallery, Edinburgh; IRON – R 18, National Sculpture Factory, Cork.
