The Táin

From The Arts Council's Collection of Contemporary Irish Art. This exhibition consisted of 24 works by one of Ireland's foremost artists. The illustrations orginially accompanied a unique translation by Thomas Kinsella of the Táin Bó Cuailnge, longest and most important of the Ulster cycle of heroic tales, which was published in 1969. Louis le Brocquy has exhibited extensively throughout the world and his work is included in numerous public and private collections, including the National Gallery, Dublin; the Gulbenkian Museum, Lisbon and the Carnegie Institute, Pittsburgh.
