A marvellous month for Mermaid Arts Centre supported projects - Irish Times Theatre Awards

It has been a marvellous month for a number of theatre projects that Mermaid Arts Centre supported through 2022. Dan Colley's Lost Lear has been nominated for Best New Play and Audience Choice Prize in the Irish Times Theatre Awards. Lost Lear was co-produced by Mermaid Arts Centre and Riverbank Arts Centre and funded by the Arts Council of Ireland and supported by Fishamble The New Play Clinic.

Eoin French has been nominated for Best Soundscape in the Irish Times Theatre Awards for his work on Accents which was produced by Project Arts Centre and Kate Ferris in association with Mermaid Arts Centre. Accents was written by Emmet Kirwan who is one of Mermaid's Transform Associate Artists, and has also been nominated for the Audience Choice prize.

The Irish Times Irish Theatre Awards will be presented on Sunday, March 26th.

They will include an audience-choice award, voted on by the public.

Everyone who submits a vote for the audience-choice award will be in with a chance to win a night’s bed, breakfast and dinner, for two people sharing, at Butler House, in Kilkenny, courtesy of Ireland’s Blue Book, and a festival pass for Dublin Theatre Festival 2023 for the winner and their guest.
