Please note this is a partially offsite event - Uneven ground and coastal walk/forage along the beach may not be suitable for wheelchair users or those with additional mobility needs. The second part of the launch will be a reception at Mermaid Arts Centre. Please contact us if you have access needs and we will do our best to accommodate.
Join us for a final foraging walk and zine launch to mark the end of the Forage & Light workshop series.
This event looks back at the year long series run by Samuel Arnold Keane and Kasia Kaminska, as we gathered from the Bray coastline to the Mermaid studio space, foraging edible seaweeds, plants, seeds and learning plant based printmaking techniques, anthotype, cyanotype, kelp ink, etc.
The zine will celebrate our collective walks and artworks with recipes, collage of artworks, glimmers of hope, cures…honouring the cycles of the Celtic year.
We will meet at Bray seafront to forage and then return to Mermaid Art Centre to share foraged snacks and launch the collaborative Forage & Light zine.
Feel free to join us afterwards for the opening of Mermaid's new exhibition by artists Elida Maiques, entitled "A Playful River" at 2pm!
