The 2026 Shaking Bog culminates in a powerful celebration of traditional music and dance. Traditional artists - both upcoming and established - led by the infectious rhythms of the dynamic Edwina Guckian take to the stage for a joyful and authentic finale in the atmospheric surroundings of Curtlestown Church.

EDWINA GUCKIAN
Edwina Guckian is an artist, community activist and cultural curator whose work is deeply rooted in the traditions, folklore and lived experience of rural Ireland. Raised in County Leitrim, she is internationally recognised for her distinctive contribution to Irish traditional dance, reviving and reimagining vernacular dance traditions for contemporary audiences while remaining firmly grounded in place and community. Edwina’s contributions to Irish arts and culture have been recognised through a number of prestigious awards, including the Next Generation Award from the Arts Council of Ireland, the Markievicz Award, and the Gradam Comaoine awarded by TG4 in 2022, honouring her outstanding contribution to traditional dance and the preservation of Irish cultural heritage. SEAMAS HYLAND: Seamas Hyland is a multi-instrumentalist, set dancer and composer who focuses on both traditional and experimental music. He enjoys exploring the varied sonic capabilities of the button accordion and creating tonal landscapes using field recordings he collects. He enjoys collaborating and improvising with artists such as John Francis Flynn, Jennie Moran and Eimear Walshe and is particularly intrigued by the contrasting nature of traditional and contemporary music and how/if these can be presented together. He recently released his debut solo album ‘Maidin Domhnaigh’ and was nominated for an RTÉ Folk award for best emerging artist.
