Alex (Will Arnett) and Tess (Laura Dern) have been married for over twenty years and have two boys; but the relationship has reached a crossroads. When they decide to separate, they must navigate the challenges of living apart and co-parenting.
However, the situation also sends each of them on a journey of self-discovery - Alex unexpectedly starts performing stand-up gigs on the New York comedy scene, whilst Tess returns to her beloved volleyball coaching, which she had sacrificed for her marriage and children. Based on the true experiences of British comedian John Bishop and his wife, the new drama from actor-turned-director Bradley Cooper is a gentle, funny and intimate exploration of love, relationships and rediscovery. A tender film for grown-ups.
