In 1980s England, aspiring journalist Niki plans a book about her mother Etsuko’s postwar experiences in Nagasaki. As Etsuko reluctantly revisits buried memories, hidden truths emerge. A moving meditation on war, loss and memory, based on Nobel Prize winner Kazuo Ishiguro’s debut novel.
